North West Wedding Videographer
Welcome to Gingerbread Productions! Thanks for stopping by. My name’s Craig McKenna, and I’d love to have a few minutes of your time. Let me start by saying, ‘Congratulations!’ I hope the proposal was amazing, and I hope you’ve had some luck finding the right place to get married! Throughout this page, you’ll find information about my approach to filming weddings, as well as having an opportunity to look at some of my InstaTeaser films. If you like the look of those, then I’d love for you to take a look at some of my Feature Films, as well as some of my Cinematic Wedding Highlight films, and see which type of film you’d be most interested in having. But before you make a cup of tea, and get lost in my films, I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a professional wedding and commercial filmmaker based in the North West of England. As an approachable, cheerful and skilled wedding videographer, I am often told that I am delightful to work with. Therefore, I am frequently recommended by a range of talented North West wedding photographers, including SMH Photography, Hervé Gillet, Jono Symonds and many others from all over the UK. I like to think that I am recommended by other suppliers because of my approach to filming weddings, which you can read more about in the next paragraph.
Approach to Filming Weddings in the North West and Further Afield
As a fully qualified drone operator, I am able to capture your wedding day from the skies, as well as I am able to capture your wedding day from the ground. Nevertheless, I spend most of my time on the ground, and like to operate inconspicuously when I do by shooting through people and capturing natural reactions using small cameras. I won’t be posing you on your wedding day, I’ll just be capturing things as they occur naturally. Think of me as a fly-on-the-wall. I see all things, hear all things, but you will forget that I’m there – just ask some of my previous couples. This approach ensures that I capture the essence of your wedding day: the words; the looks; the people; the laughter; the love; and mix these ingredients together to create a modern wedding film that tells the story of your wedding day and yourselves as a newly married couple. Whether that's achieved through the words shared in a heartfelt speech, or the reading of a loved one, I carefully digest your wedding day as a guest, then re-tell your story from my own perspective. There’s no fancy editing tricks in my films that will look terrible in five years time – just solid filmmaking using principles of cinematography: light and shadows, continuity, composition, camera angles, cuts and the art of storytelling to get your emotions running every time you watch it.
Award Winning Videographer based in the North West
I have been trained, trusted and employed by world-renowned wedding videographer, Philip White, who was voted in the top 5 wedding videographers in the world (2019). Whilst I may not have Philip’s name, or never-ending list of accomplishments, I feel it’s a nice compliment to be called upon by such a talented wedding videographer whenever he needs some help. Over the past couple of years, I have created multiple commercial films for a multi-billion pound business and won a Dot COMM award as part of the team who produced a Science and Technology Report. Nevertheless, my true joy comes from filming weddings, and being a small part of my clients’ wedding days. I frequently film at local wedding venues, such as Knowsley Hall and Ashfield House, but spend equally as much time at venues far away, usually in the Midlands or around Cambridgeshire. Having filmed weddings all over the UK and Europe (Belgium, Italy and Greece to name a few), it’s fair to say that I’m game for any journey, and I love to work with clients who are looking for a wedding film that captures their wedding day naturally with lots of laughter, heartfelt words and love.
From Fairy Tales to Laid Back North West Weddings
Whether you’re a couple looking to have a fairytale wedding, complete with a Cinderella inspired first dance, as Phil and Emma did at the stunning Knowsley Hall, or whether you’d like a laid back wedding, where everything is chilled and understated, I would love to work with you if you like the look of my wedding films! If you’re still on the fence, you’re more than welcome to read through my clients’ thoughts following receipt of one of my wedding films, and if you’d like to learn more about me, then you can read and see who I am outside of weddings – if that’s something that you’re interested in! Otherwise, you can check out some of our Collections on my pricing page, or get in touch for a bespoke package, tailored to your interests.
Upgrade Your Wedding Video After Your Wedding Day
When your wedding has finished, and your family and friends say their goodbyes, you’re left with your memories, your photographs and your wedding film. Whether you’re a couple who understands the true value of a wedding film already, or you’re a couple who will realise the true value after your wedding day, there’s no question that a wedding film grows in value over time. One of the best parts about booking me for your wedding day is that you can change your collection at any time, even if it’s after your wedding day! Regardless of the Collection you choose, I will shoot your wedding in the same way. Ultimately, I want to make you a wedding film that you will be proud to show your grandchildren, and create a range of films that will survive the test of time.
